Welcome to my new feature at Dirtymitten called Quit Sleepin’ everytime I come across an album, artist or song that I think isn’t being given the attention it deserves, i’m gonna tell you about it and what you can do to enlighten yourself about it.
First up: Paradime “Spill at Will” Released July 21st, 2007 Featuring Guilty Simpson, Marvwon, Trick Trick, Twisted Brown Trucker.
While not up to par with some of Dime’s previous releases, this is a solid cd from track Whiskey Bar to People Who Died. With Dime showing off a wide array of skills throughout the cd’s 12 tracks. Paradime brings along some friends for the ride and the standouts are Guilty Simpson and Marvwon on “Ruude” and Trick Trick on “last Call”. Definitely one of few Detroit releases in 2007 without any weak spots, the weakest moment being the lead single “The Reaper” with King Jazzy on the hook, but fans of reggae infuzed hip-hop will love the realness of the track. This album also features three of Dime’s best tracks to date, the bag pipe laced “Irish Eyes” and the most slept on track of the year “Self Made Man” and “The Water” (Samples Below). You can cop this CD from Dime’s website www.dimesworld.com right now for the bargain price of $7.50, people think downloading is stealing, grabbing this album for $7.50 is stealing.
